Early Life

In Assam,Guwahati, (Indian) Riyan was born into a sports-loving family. His parents were national-level swimmer Mithoo Barooah Das and domestic cricket player Parag Das. His father, who played and practiced the sport with him. His father was inspired by his never give up attitude and abilities, which encouraged him to follow in his father's footsteps.

He was able to learn the fundamentals and techniques of cricket by gaining guidance from his father as a Teacher, who has played domestic tournaments alongside M.S. Dhoni, in shaping his batting skills. He began by playing for a local club and his school. At the early age of 12, he was chosen for the U-16 Assam squad due to his hard work and skills.

In Inter-State T-20 Tournament, he made his debut in the T-20 format, playing for Assam. 


Riyan Parag Career

• In T-20 debut at the Inter-State T-20 Tournament, he became the subject of talks because of his class and skills as a all-rounder and his performance.


• He also made his debut at the 2017–2018 Ranji Trophy at age of 16 in Assam team.


• The U-19 Indian squad selectors were impressed by his home performances and they quickly chose him for the 2018 U-19 Cricket World Cup. India won the competition by eight wickets after chasing down the 216-run benchmark.

• A few months later, he made also make debut in 2018–2019 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he represented Assam Team and had a good performance. He scored 248 runs in just 7 matches, in which he was the top scorer in this tournament.

• His Indian Premier League career was quite good by his average performance.

• In 2019 Indian Premier League, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for a base prize of Rupees 20 Lakh. He became the youngest player to score a half-century in the history of the Indian Premier League.

• Riyan participated in 7 games, amassing 160 runs at a run rate of 32.0 and gets 2 wickets. In 2020 IPL, He scored 86 runs in 12 games which was not a good scores as a player.

Performance in 2023 (Stardom)

• Between October 17-31, 2023, he added another fifty to his total, against Bengal in the pre-quarterfinal, created the world record of seven half-century by a player. In this year's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy(SMAT), He has scored the highest of 490 runs (averaging 122.50) at a strike rate of 189 in 8 matches.

• In 2023, Deodhar Trophy's he is also highest run scorer, highest six-hitter, and third-highest wicket-taker, earning the title of Player of the Series.

•He was also added to the India A tournament for the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in 2023. In the championship game against Pakistan A, Riyan took two middle-order wickets in consecutive balls.

• In T20 cricket, Riyan Parag becomes the first player to score six consecutive half-centuries which was also a world record by a player in domestic circuit.

• In T20 cricket, Assam all-rounder Riyan Parag became the first player to smash six consecutive half-centuries. During the current Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023, Parag has been playing in incredible form. By this performance he also knock the doors of Indian Selection Committee for upcoming T20 series.

•He broke the previous T20 record with an unbeaten 57 off 33 balls. At the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in Mumbai, Assam defeated Kerala in their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match thanks to Parag's innings.
